Something like this we want to give flexibility on. If you'd like for him to be curious and find Dr. Spim and ask him about it, a small test may be done to find whichever result you may want:
1. His lifespan has stopped shortening. Good for him! 2. It's still shrinking, but at a much slower pace. 3. It's shrinking at normal pace, to which we assume would be fatal. We suppose you can do this option if you'd like to drop the game in two years time, as death is permanent here. However, in the FAQ, it is mentioned that characters may go through a rebuilding process if they do come close to dying, where Aki would be almost entirely robot. It isn't recommended to do this, but in two years time, if his health has declined enough, we can possibly sort something out. Come back to us as it gets closer if you choose this option.
If you want more information on what kind of test this is, you can ask for that, but it's probably something having to do with blood samples and a really thorough exam. Nothing too painful.
