The teleportation chip upgrade isn't any easier than any of the other upgrades. Dr. Spim and Alex will explain the procedure to them, and once they get consent, it will begin. The patient will be strapped down and some minor brain surgery will be conducted to access their implant. The teleportation chip will then be installed into their implant and the wound will be stitched up. Given recent developments, anesthesia will now be administered.
As the upgrade installs, their body will go through some difficult changes as it gets used to its new abilities. On top of the pain from the surgery, they will go through a few hours of disorientation, where their senses will go into overdrive. Their sense of time will become warped, and minutes can feel like hours, or hours can feel like seconds. Their senses will flip between being over heightened and completely numb. This means that sometimes a light touch can feel like fire, and at other times they might find it difficult to see or hear. As the body adjusts, this will go on for a few days, so it's best to rest and stay somewhere safe.
As always, they will be able to sleep in the medical bay or in their room.
Some notes regarding their new teleportation ability: - They can teleport to anywhere within a maximum radius of 10km. - They cannot teleport to areas off limits, such as the main LILITH offices, the research labs, or LEVEL 000. - There are safeguards in place to prevent teleporting into walls or other people/objects. If that happens, they will be beamed back to where they had come from immediately and will feel extremely nauseous. - Unless there's a glitch, their clothes and small things they are holding can come with them. - There will be a 'feeling out' period where they will need to train their skills. This means they might teleport to the wrong places or lose their clothes sometimes (there will continue to be glitches afterward too). Dr. Spim will tell them it helps to have a visual map of where you want to go prior to teleporting.
